Greetings, one and all, and welcome to the latest edition of the Hastings Flycast.
Fleur and I are excited to be back and can’t wait to share fresh content with our network of readers.
We know we’re stepping into big shoes after President Dave and his predecessors, Iain and Bonnie Morrison. Each of them lifted the role to new heights, promoting the Club and its many activities.
In this edition, you’ll find details from the Annual General Meeting and photos of our incoming executive members. If you’re on the committee and want to update your picture, feel free to send one in—plenty of tools and filters can help with that. AI even works wonders on anti-aging, if that matters to you. That said, since fishers already stretch the truth about catch sizes, I won’t hesitate to run images through AI detection if they look too good to be true! Fleur and I would never risk our journalistic integrity by publishing something too far from reality… would we?
We’re also trialling embedded links in this issue. They’ll take you to our website and YouTube channel. Let us know if they work for you and if they make jumping to extra content easier.
The recent weather has limited fishing opportunities, but warmer months are ahead. With that, we expect more stories to roll in. We’d love to include both official and unofficial outing reports, so don’t forget your lucky attendance tickets and share your updates with us. Award nominations for next year’s AGM are also welcome (nearly losing a rod to a carp might be one of the great Windknot award stories).
